Welcome to sailing with Ponyo

On Sunday, May 3rd 2026, the good ship Ponyo will leave her home harbour of Horsens, Denmark, to embark on an estimated three-month trip around the British Isles and back.

The round trip will be sailed clockwise.

The ship

Ponyo

Ponyo is a Moody 422 from 1988 (42 feet). It has had two previous owners, but only the first owner for an extended period. It was acquired by us about 5 years ago and has since undergone a lengthy refurbishment. It is a capable blue water cruiser.

The engine

The engine is a Volvo Penta MD22 4 cylinder, 60 HP, Diesel engine. It has been extracted from the boat and completely overhauled by professionals from "Havneservice, Marine center, Horsens"

En: This is a day of grieving, because on the way into the harbour on Isle of Man 🇮🇲 a fender was lost to the sea. It was put on the deck and immediately after letting go, it rolled down and landed perfectly under the railing, from where it rolled directly
